I really can't say anything positive about this restaurant. I had a steak and enchilada dinner and it was horrible. The steak was so thin it was like a piece of deli meat and did not seem to have any seasoning at all. There was a table flyer of $2.50 margaritas; we ordered margaritas and when we received the drinks they appeared to be the exact same as the picture on the flyer. When the bill came, we were charged $4.50 for each margarita. When we asked about the price they said we got a "larger glass" than the glass from the special and he did not have a response about the picture. We spoke with the manager and told him that we were not given the option to order a margarita on special - we just stated margaritas - but they REFUSED to lower the price. It was not the extra money we paid, it felt like a bait and switch and they duped us out of $8. The manager gave us a 1/2 off dinner coupon, but there is NO WAY I would go back again; this is no way to run a restaurant. I was not impressed with the service and the food was horrible. Advertises specials and then does not give them and I would rather pay extra just to not go back there. Anyone that is thinking of trying this over our current Mexican restaurant DO NOT DO IT - bad food and bad service. Check the reviews of the others and you will see Tequila Restaurant is not the choice to make.

New Mexican restaurant in town. Clean, friendly, and the food was good. Slightly odd menu--the first time I have ever had a combo plate at a Mexican place anywhere in the US and not received rice and beans. Looked like a variety of cheap lunch specials availible every day.

Bagged chips and terrible salsa. Owner was present and attentive but wait staff could not understand or explain any items or bring the right bottle of soda. They repeatedly got the owner when we asked what flavors of their own Mexican soda. The food was OK but not nearly as good as the other Mexican restaurant in town (if you're a real Mexican food lover.) If only the salsa and chips were good, it might be worth the trip.

Went for dinner with a friend last week. I ordered the enchiladas mexicanas, four enchiladas, sauced, with lettuce and tomato. It was OK, but I have had better. My friend ordered the tequila special. 8oz steak with three enchiladas, refried beans and included a salad (lettuce, tomato). The enchiladas and beans were OK. The steak, well it sure wasn't 8oz.....it looked more like a piece of "Steak-Um" or deli beef. At best it was 1/4 inch thick my friend was too polite to complain and did not want me to question our server which I thought was a disservice to them. I'll give them another shot; I may order the tequila special just to see what I get for a steak.

The guac and margaritas were awesome to begin with. My wife got the special dinner, which is five items. The Chile releno was delicious. I got the enchiladas Acapulco. Real pieces of crab along with the shrimp. Yummy. I would definitely recomend.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
